Why can't I receive a text message with a verification code?

Please set your authenticator app as the primary authentication method for your QNAP ID at your earliest convenience. Due to an increase in scam messages, Singapore government has announced the legislation on the SMS Sender ID Registry (SSIR). While QNAP is applying for Sender IDs, your mobile service provider may mark our automated messages as spam messages. To ensure that you can receive 2-step verification codes, we recommend setting your authenticator app as the primary authentication method by the end of January 2023.

Setup the Authenticator App by using the following steps:

  1. Login your QNAP ID on QNAP Account Center
  2. Click the [Security] from the menu
  3. Choose the "2-Step Verification" tab
  4. Click the [Set Up] button for Authenticator app underneath the "AddAlternative Method" section
  5. Enter your QID password for verification
  6. Scan the QR code using the Authenticator app of your choice
  7. Enter the 6 digit code generated on the Authenticator app
  8. Click the [Verify] button to complete the setup

If you have not yet installed an authenticator app, download Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator on your mobile device.
